Out of our five takhats, two, Hazoor Sahib and Patna Sahib are under lot of influence of Hindu (Brahminism) impact. They both are not under the management of SGPC, so do not follow Akal Takhat's Code.
They do many such rituals which are clearly fobidden in Guru Granth Sahib.
This ritual of offering sacrifice is also a part of that. Many hymns in GGS condemn such sacrifices in harsh words but who listens to GGS, they are so misled that they follow their own beliefs or so-called traditions.
They do it just following the Hindu ritual of offering animal sacifices to their gods. Their is no such happenings in Keshgarh or at any other places to my knowledge. Yes, some of the Nihang sections do it, and later eat the meat themselves.
Therotically no one from Punjab side accept such rituals but no body dares to condemn it. i don't when the so called Khalsa will awake to the teachings of GGS. Only if people (sangat-public) awake then such useless and contrary to Gurmat rituals can be stopped. I am pained to my heart so see these and many other futile acitivities performed in our religious places. The centres of enlightenment have become places of business.
All those, who just offer theri money and gold ornaments blindly, should think twice before the do it just for the sake of Guru Ji.

LIKHDE HOE KOI GALTI HOI HOVE TA MAAFI...
Waheguruji ka khalsa waheguruji ki fateh KhalsaJi. I am glad to see that you have little awareness remained in your mind about Shree Guru Granth Sahibji. Better you people stop criticizing on the rituals followed at Takhat Shri Huzur Sahib, because that is the only place remained in this entire world where people are following the learnings of Shree Guru Granth Sahibji. Except for Shri Huzur Sahib every where in this dirty world Sikhs are forgotten about the learnings of Guru Granth Sahibji, young generation is cutting hair just for style and fashion (just look at your face). You also dishonoured the hair by triming your beard and mustaches. Have you people forgotten the sacrifices our Gurus had done just to honor the hair. Moreover young boys also forgot about the learnings of Guru Granth Sahibji and are consuming cigarretes and other forms of tobaco.
Peep into your own before pointing fingure towards the rituals of Shri Huzur Sahib
Sonu..
The ritual is an insult to Guru Nanak and other Guru jis. There is no justification at all. Shame on the people who don't understand the abstract meaning of sikhi but falling prey to physical practices, condemned by Nanak.. this is the fog .. in "ਮਿਟੀ ਧੁੰਦ ਜਗ ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋਆ"
There was no need for sikhism if these ritual package were to be part of it.
Unserstand SGGS ji, don't read it like a mantra... gurbani meaning and practice of the gurbani message is sikhi... my dear..
ਬੱਕਰੇ ਝਟਕਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਮੱਤ ਬਖਸ਼ੇ..
I'm so saddened to see this ..The day my friend showed me this i could not believe what my eyes just saw.. The same night i could not sleep.. This is miss lading people and it should be stopped .. If any one wants to go against this I’ll be the first to volunteer.. My e-mail is bhupinder19@hotmail.com
i was so shocked when i saw this video and still i'm really hurt . i don't know why anyone doesn't appose it.if nihangs want to give tilak to shastr why don't they sacrifice their son instead of killing a poor animal.this is not sikhism .There is no such ritual in mentioned in our religion.
saint people never do these kinda things . we are different . we are son of guru gobind singh who rose sword against injustice . what about injustice to these animal ? if flesh os to be part of our religion then how are we different from others. i think the sacrifice of 4 SAHIBZADS AND 5 PYARE PLUS OTHER SHAHEED IS GOIN IN VAIN....STOPPP...PLEASE
this is totally wrong .According to "GURU GRANTH SAHIB MAHARAJ" a peson who kill a poor animal he is butcher not a sikh
jo admi eh kam karda hai oh umat hai kalyug di, oh dasam avtaar da puttar nhi ho sakda
The whole thing about Jhatka seems quite suspicious. The following writeup will make my sentiments clear:
Jhatka (or 'chatka') was a term used to describe the killing of an enemy quickly with a single blow (this tradition is apparently known as 'Chatka Gatka' or 'Sanatan Hindu Sikh Shastar Vidiya'). Its use by Sikhs / Nihangs to also denote the killing of animals in a similar fashion appears in several 'historical' texts (see list further below) - all of which were written long after the joti-jot of the 10th Guru, Guru Gobind Singh ji (1666 - 1708). Jhatka has its roots in Hindu traditions - where the sacrificial animal was decapitated with one stroke, otherwise it was not deemed acceptable to the 'diety', e.g. Kali or Durga. Shaivite Hindus carry out jhatka as part of religious dietary laws.
'Jhatka is a distinguishable tradition of the Nihang Singhs. Nihangs often contend, without evidence, that the tradition of jhatka came from the 6th Guru & spread under him. Ironically, a handwritten Hukum Nama is in existence in which the same Guru instructs Sikhs, "Do not go near meat or fish". The following are some interesting quotes by Nihang leaders:
‘Don’t shame us by wondering in shops, restaurants, market places etc eating meat, refrain from doing this! Perform Jhatka with your own hands and go hunting for prey. Only then are we permitted to eat meat’ (Nihang Jathedar Baba Santa Singh, Pracchin Panth Parkash Steek).
“Those who wish to eat meat should eat Jhatka which gears individuals towards warfare. Those Sikhs who just wish to perform selfless service and meditate should avoid meat and maintain a very simple diet. There is no obligation on anyone to eat meat, one should never eat khulla maas.” (Nihang Jathedar Baba Joginder Singh, Oral Interview July 2006)
So jhatka (and meat-eating), in their opinion, is fine for active warriors but not for all other Sikhs (though I was unable to find any historical support for this viewpoint - but I can give them the benefit of doubt). Today, Sikhs who champion meat-eating are not warriors and do not "perform jhatka with their own hands" and they readily eat meat served at various eateries, including Muslim halal shops, without caring about the origin or method of preparation of the meat. Those rare ones who are particular and seek out jhatka shops abdicate the responsibility of providing meat to others (eg suppliers, shops) as they do not "go hunting for prey" or "perform jhatka with their own hands", and have no idea how the animal is actually killed.
People often quote one or more of the following texts when supporting the practice of animal jhaka - but the word is conspicuously missing, as far as we can tell, from any credible Sikh writings from the time of all ten Gurus - which makes one wonder since words like kutha and halal do exist . Note the dates the texts were written (all are after the 10th Guru's joti-jot in 1708) - none of the writers were contemporaries:
SAU SAKHI (lit. a book of one hundred anecdotes) is a work esoteric and prophetic in nature. Also problematic as regards the authenticity of its text. Written in 1724 or 1734, it underwent changes and interpolations.
PRACCHIN PANTH PARKASH (also known as Sri Gur Panth Prakash) - written by historian and nobleman Rattan Singh Bhangu (his exact birth date unknown: 17xx; but died 1846).
GURBILAS PATSHAHI DASMI - written by Kavi Sukha Singh in 1797.
REHATNAME - written by Piara Singh Padam - he was born in 1921 and was a scholar of Punjabi language, literature and Sikh history. This same writer says in another book that Guru Gobind Singh ji had sexcapades!
SIRI GUR PARTAP SURAJ GRANTH (popularly known as ‘Suraj Parkash’) - written by Kavi Bhai Santokh Singh (1787 - 1853) in 1843.
REHATNAMA BHAI DESA SINGH - Desa Singh lived in the late 18th century and is not a contemporary of Guru Gobind Singh.
JHATKA PARKASH - a text written by Bhai Narinjan Singh Saral of the SGPC. The SGPC was established in the 1920s.
